Redensity (Under Eye Light Filling)

Why Under-Eye Light Filling?

For both young and old patients, applying filling in under-eye area is a safe and efficient alternative to surgery. Many patients are not happy with the shadows that appear under the eyes and depression.

Under-Eye Light Filling

The underlying tissue that keep your skin young looking usually starts to leave face wrinkles in the loose muscle lines, smile lines, crowfoots or in places where muscle movement happens. This may result from genetics, but it is also a sign of aging.

Injectable soft tissue filling materials such as Restylane, Juvederm or Radiesse can help fill these lines and wrinkles and help you have a smoother, younger appearance. Besides, they may add plumpness to lips and cheeks. Injectable filling materials such as Juvederm or Restylane may be used on their own, or together with peeling procedures such as the ones done with lasers, or facelift procedures.

Injectable filling materials may help fill deep facial wrinkles, wrinkles and lines, lean cheeks, dark circles under the eyes, skin clogging and certain marks. Face filling materials are also used to give the lips a more plump, sensory appearance to lips. Depending on the patient, injectable filling materials can be used to improve the appearance of dark circles under the eyes. Face filling materials such as Restylane or Juvederm can help you avoid or postpone plastic surgery with immediate, long term natural solutions and minimum cuts.

Not permanent

Just like it is with every other trustworthy hyaluronic acid based filling material, absorption of the injected material over time is slow, and these injections may be renewed in a safe way if necessary. As the faces of people change slowly, cosmetic surgeons realised that treatments that aren’t permanent are advantageous, because they understood that they allowed these materials to be in harmony with the rest of the patients face. If a permanent implant material such as the silicone given to a patient in their 30’s is still in place when the patient is 80 years old, it may not look good or in harmony. Because of that, patients and surgeons desire the use of injectable implants that are not permanent and can be absorbable.

Reversible

Another important advantage of hyaluronic acid based filling materials is that the patient can quickly reverse it if they wish to. In rare occasions when the patient does not content oneself with the treatment, a small Hyalase injection (hyalurodinase), which is an enzyme medicine that has been frequently used in cataract surgery for over 20 years, may be used so that the implant dissolves quickly. Despite permanent fillings that cause very serious deformations and irreversible aesthetic issues, they are perfectly safe. They do not cause allergic reactions.

Does Not Require Surgery

In general, under-eye light treatments are tolerated very well, they are almost painless, and they are applied in small amounts on the skin with a local anesthetic cream that numbs the skin. Patients can feel a small pressure during the procedure. The procedure is usually done in the clinic via outpatient care, and is done approximately 5 times for each side. Recovery period is very quick, and although patients may experience a small amount of swelling in the first week after the operation, most of them disappear in 10 days. The material can still stay under the skin for weeks up to months, and this characteristic is frequently useful to correct small lumps.

Am I A Good Candidate For Under-Eye Light Filling?

The patients that complain that their under-eyes have an empty appearance, and bruises and fat pockets in their under-eyes are getting bigger are usually candidates for this treatment. Picking patients that are suitable for under-eye light filling is a process that requires expert opinion. Perfect candidates should have a good skin flexibility and adequate skin thickness. Because of these reasons, not everyone can be a good candidate for under-eye light filling treatment. In addition, innovative ways are sometimes found to treat the patients that are not ideal candidates, this sometimes includes gradual treatments.
